About the Artist:

Born in 1988, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

In my practice, I explore human presence through a variety of painterly techniques. My work draws from the rich canon of art history, building upon Western movements such as Post-Impressionism and Expressionism, and is infused with the spiritual color palettes I encountered in Mexico. In our ever-changing world, I strive to create a testimony of the present-day experience, contextualized within the broader narrative of our origins. The landscape holds a prominent place in my perception of the world, yet I also emphasize the significance of modern urban centers, where I spend much of my time. These environments are integral to my paintings.

In my works that show the figure or creations by the figure, they can be seen assuming a god-like role in manoeuvring the altered landscape. This interplay between nature and need for creative imagination becomes an amalgamation exploring our sense of belonging.

Some of my paintings focus purely on an, by me, interpreted location where experiences were had, are to be had, and where memories are created. Others concentrate on intimate moments that focus our time spent, capturing a detail and giving birth to a subjective experience.

Works by Camille are in private collections in Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.
